Špitálka at Architecture Week Praha 2023
Architecture Week Praha 2023 is a prestigious event dedicated to architecture, urbanism and design. It also includes the exhibition "Czech and Slovak Architecture - Panorama of Architecture 1918-2023", which includes a model of the Špitálka Smart District.
Architecture Week Praha 2023 is an opportunity for architects, urban planners, architecture students and the public to learn about the development of architecture not only in the Czech Republic. The festival also includes an exhibition "Czech and Slovak Architecture - Panorama of Architecture 1918-2023" to mark the 30th anniversary of the Czech Republic. On an area of over 2,000 square metres, more than 500 of the most important architectural works by hundreds of architects working from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day, both in the Czech and Slovak Republics, are presented.
The exhibition also includes a model of the Špitálka Smart District, which shows the future shape of the area near the historic centre of Brno. Today, the site belongs to the administration of the Brno heating plants, but they do not plan to continue using the 2.5 hectares of land. The Brno City Municipality is therefore preparing the construction of a modern district for housing, work and leisure.
For the recently produced model of Špitálka, this is the second event for a wider audience. In March 2023, the model appeared at the MIPIM real estate investment fair in Cannes, France. The model can be seen at Architecture Week Prague 2023 until 30 November 2023. The exhibition is open daily in the Prague Castle Riding Hall from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
