In August this year the City of Brno commissioned a zoning study for the locality of Špitálka and its surroundings. The aim of this study is to propose changes of functional and spatial arrangement in the locality (especially in brownfield sites), which will enable their transformation in the Master Zoning Plan of the City of Brno into a mixed-used area. The zoning study follows-up on the International Open Urban Design Competition, which was successfully evaluated in March 2019 (more information here).
Currently, work has started on the zoning study and City of Brno again wants to invite all major landowners in this area to a meeting during which the intention of the city, planned process of development and opportunities how to participate will be presented.
The event will be attended by representatives of the City of Brno, the Chief Architect Office of the City of Brno, the authors of the zoning study (Atelier ERA), and Filip Chvátal, councilor for Urban Planning and Development of the City of Brno.
